Lamanyeee tak update blog.. quite tired and laziness to blog nowadays.. penat jadi surirumah ni mengalahkan penat org bekerja pulak.. eheheh.. ๐Ÿ˜› but sometimes you just need some ‘me time’ to get your body recharge from your everyday routines..

I’ve cooked this while ago.. and I must say this is the most delicious gravy I’ve tasted before.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Found the recipe from myresipi.com, recipe by Hana from myresipi.. I just marinated the beef with barbeque and smokey sauce.. steamed broccoli and carrot, served with mashed potato and homemade gravy.. Simple yet delicious.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lamb Chop

Bahan-bahan ( 2 org makan )

  • 500gm daging slice/2 keping daging
  • 2 sudu marjerin/butter
  • skit garam dan blackpepper

BHN SOS BLACK PEPPER

  • 1/2 sudu black pepper
  • 1 sudu mentega
  • 1 kuib ayam
  • sebatang saderi-dicincang
  • sebiji bawang besar- dicincang
  • 2 cwn air (hana tmbh susu segar skit.. x nk pon tkpe)
  • 2 sudu tepung gandum
  • 2 sudu kicap 2 sudu sos tiram
  • garam skit

BHN MACARONI / COLESLAW

  • segengam macaroni – direbus dan ditos
  • segenggam mix vagetable – direbus dan ditos
  • 2 sudu mayonis 2 sudu yogurt plain
  • sesudu air lemon

BHN MASHED POTATO

  • 5 biji kentang – direbus dahulu dan lenyekkan
  • 1/2 cwn susu segar – kurangkan klu tk nak lembik sgt. 2 sb butter, garam dan lada hitam sedikit
  • sos black pepper/gravy

BHN SAMPINGAN

  • kentang goreng
  • 2 batang asparagus/brokoli – direbus dgn sedikit garam dan toskan
  • sebiji tomato- dihiris

Cara-cara

  1. Gaulkan daging ngan skit garam dan blackpepper .perap sebentar kemudian grill la ngan marjerin/butter smpai masak. kalau ade sos steak leh la di sapukan atas daging tuh.. dan balik2kan sampai masak.
  2. Utk buat sos black pepper/gravy – masukkan air, bwg,btg saderi,..rebus hingga didih dan toskan.Campurkan air rebusan td dgn mentega,kiub ayam,kicap,sos tiram,black pepper,garam dan tepung yg dicampur dgn sedikit air utk memekatkan sos.masak hingga didih dan pekat.
  3. Utk buat macaroni – campurkan bhn rebusan ( macaroni,mix vagetable) mayonis,yogurt dan air lemon. Gaul hingga sebati.perasakan ngan garam. I omit macaroni, just used vegetables and steamed in microwave.
  4. Utk mashed potato plak – lenyekkan kentang dan masukkan butter. kemudian susu segar dan tmbhkan lada itam dan garam skit. cedokkan dan curahkan sos black pepper/gravy td.
  5. Hidangkan dengan kentang goreng,brokoli dan asparagus. hana wat gak chicken chop coz my kids tk mkn daging. resepi nih nmpk cam susah tp sebenarnya senang je..

Lontong Goreng

Dah puas makan rendang, sayur lodeh dan macam-macam makanan raya lagi.. sini tak laa banyak masak pun.. tapi kenyang la jugakkk makan berkali-kali. ๐Ÿ™‚ ada lebihan nasi himpit tu boleh laa masak resepi ni.. lontong goreng dari Kak Fida@MyResepi.ย  Dah dua -tiga kali masak lontong goreng ni.. simple dan sedap.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bahan:

  • sepinggan lontong,ketupat atau nasi himpit yg telah didadu kasar2
  • 1 senduk cili kisar(lebihkan jika suka pedas)
  • 1 biji bawang besar kisar
  • 3 ulas bawang putih kisar
  • 1 hiris halia kisar
  • 200 g daging/ayam cincang
  • 200 g udang hidup – kupas kulit
  • 3 sb sos tiram
  • 2 sb sos tomato
  • 2 sb kicap manis
  • daun sop,daun bawang – hiris
  • 1/2 cawan bawang goreng
  • 2-4 biji telur
  • minyak masak utk menumis
  • garam dan gula secukup rasa

Cara-cara

  1. Satukan semua bahan yg dikisar.Panaskan minyak dan tumis bahan kisar hingga garing.Masukkan daging /ayam cincang dan udang dan gaul rata dan masukkan sos tiram,sos tomato dan kicap.Tambahkan garam dan gula secukup rasa dan gaul lagi.
  2. Masukkan lontong dan gaul hingga sebati dan 1/2 bahagian daun sop,daun bawang dan 1/2 bahagian bawang goreng,gaul lagi.
  3. Pecahkan telur ke atas lontong goreng dan gaul sebati dan masak hingga lontong bersalut dgn telur hingga kering,kacau sentiasa.
  4. Ketika menghidang,tabur lagi dgn daun sop,daun bawang dan bawang goreng.Sedap dimakan ketika panas atau ketika telah sejuk.

p/s: kalau nak pedas bole juga tambah cili potong..

Golden Churn Butter

Recently there’s a memo from Jabatan Agama Islam Johor (JAIJ) regarding the issue about golden churn butter that is not halal..

It is confusing to me when it has a Halal certified from NZ while in Malaysia reported as not halal by JAIJ but not JAKIM.. I lived in Melbourne where there’s Halal cert from all over the world..unlike if we are in Malaysia, we have Halal Malaysia cert that we look for.. I make an attempt to email their regional manager regarding halal status and this is what I get from him:

Assalamualaikum Mr. Hemmat,
Regarding the golden churn butter, I had come across from in my country, Malaysia saying that this butter is not halal as it contains animal fat which is from the pig.
Please clarify this matter and what about the ballantyne butter that is sold in Australia is it contains any animal product?

Hopefully I will not be ‘was-was’ with halal issue from other countries anymore.. actually I never buy golden churn butter or product from Ballantyne..The butter quite expensive compare to home brand such as Aldi, Coles and Woolworth.. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Yesterday when I was doing my errands in Safeway, I found this chocolate with 50% off ..

so I bought one and the taste was soo good.. Can buy their chocolate products again..

Agar-agar Gudir

One fine day on hot sunny day, agar-agar or jelly can make us feel a bit cool.. so few agar2 wanted to try but this one never tried before..it turns out really good and nice.. As usual the recipe from Kak Fida@myresipi.com(kalau masakan dia memang menjadi dan sedap ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Agar-agar gudir

Pertama kali dengar agar2 gudir.. tau makan aje..nama tak tau..ehehe..ย  resepinya menggunakan agar serbuk, tapi saya gunakan agar2 bertali tu..(yang ada dalam stok)Rasanya pun ada berlemak sikit sebab pakai santan dan telur dicampur..

memang menyegarkan.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Agar-Agar Gudir

Bahan-bahan ( loyang 10×10 inc. )

  • 1 peket agar2 serbuk (guna agar- bertali dlm 2/3 paket)
  • 200 g gula melaka(takder, guna dark brown sugar)
  • 50 g gula pasir
  • 1000 ml air(lebihkan dlm200ml sebab nak bg agar2 tu larut)
  • 1 helai daun pandan – disimpul(x letak)
  • 1 kotak kecil santan – 200ml santan dlm tin
  • 3 biji telur
  • garam secukup rasa

Cara-cara

  1. Masak gula melaka,gula pasir dan daun pandan dgn 1/2 bahagian air hingga mendidih dan gula larut. Tapis.
  2. Santan,telur dan garam di pukul rata dgn garfu.Ketepikan.
  3. Di dlm sebuah periuk, masukkan agar2 dan 1/2 bahagian air lagi dan kacau dan masukkan air gula tadi,masak hingga mendidih dan tuangkan campuran santan tadi dan kacau sekali dua aje. Biarkan adunan terus mendidih lagi hingga campuran santan nampak timbul berketul2 dipermukaan. Kacau rata2 dan matikan api.
  4. Tuang agar2 ke dlm loyang atau acuan2 kecil dan sejukkan. Simpan di dlm petisejuk sebelum menghidangkannya.
  5. Pastikan loyang atau acuan2 dibasahkan dgn air sebelum menuang agar2, tujuannya ialah supaya agar2 mudah dikeluarkan.

Red Velvet Cake

During Aliyah’s birthday last March, I made my first red velvet cake. Previously I did make some red velvet brownie, red velvet cheesecake. But this time I make a real Red Velvet cake.. hehehe(ada beza ke?)ย  Luckily it was a success for me.. ๐Ÿ˜› even though I had difficulty in making the frosting.. I used the recipe from joyofbaking site.. I like the cake turn out, it’s only problem is the cream cheese frosting.. It used whipped cream in the frosting, so I tried using thickened cream.. I might had over beat the whipped and it became a bit watery (cair..ehehe) Memang fail kalau guna thickened cream..need to get the technique right!

I must say it is a hit..the kids just love it.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Red Velvet Cake

2 1/2 cups (250 grams) sifted cake flour ( I used self raising flour)

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons (15 grams) regular or Dutch-processed cocoa powder ( I used cadbury cocoa)

1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 1/2 cups (300 grams) granulated white sugar (I used caster sugar)

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (I used essence vanilla)

1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk ( I used 1 cup milk + 2 tbsp lemon juice. Let it 5-10 min.)

2 tablespoons liquid red food coloring

1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar

1 teaspoon baking soda

Cream Cheese Frosting:

1 – 8 ounce (227 grams) cream cheese, room temperature

1 – 8 ounce (227 grams) tub of Mascarpone cheese, room temperature (omit, could not find this)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 cup (115 grams) confectioners’ (icing or powdered) sugar, sifted

1 1/2 (360 ml) cups heavy whipping cream (I used thickened cream here)

Method:

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and place rack in center of oven. Butter two – 9 inch (23 cm) round cake pans and line the bottoms of the pans with parchment paper. Set aside. ( I just bake in one round pan and cut into two the cake)

2.In a mixing bowl sift together the flour, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside.

3.In bowl of your electric mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the butter until soft (about 1-2 minutes). Add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes). Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.ย Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the vanilla extract and beat until combined.

4.In a measuring cup whisk the buttermilk with the red food coloring.ย With the mixer on low speed, alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, in three additions, beginning and ending with the flour. (flour,buttermilk,flour,buttermilk,flour)

5.In a small cup combine the vinegar and baking soda.ย Allow the mixture to fizz and then quickly fold into the cake batter.

6.Working quickly, divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans and smooth the tops with an offset spatula or the back of a spoon. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 – 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cakes comes out clean. Cool the cakes in their pans on a wire rack for 10 minutes.ย Place a wire rack on top of the cake pan and invert, lifting off the pan. Once the cakes have completely cooled, wrap in plastic and place the cake layers in the refrigerator for at least an hour (or overnight). (This is done to make filling and frosting the cakes easier.) ( I just leave it cool and wrap in plastic for about 1/2 hour in refrigerator)

Cream Cheese Frosting: In the bowl of your electric mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese and mascarpone cheese until smooth. Add the vanilla and confectioners sugar and beat until smooth. Using the whisk attachment, gradually add the heavy cream and whip until the frosting is thick enough to spread. Add more sugar or cream as needed to get the right consistency.

Assemble:ย  Place one of the cake layers, top of the cake facing down, onto your serving platter. Spread the cake layer with a layer of frosting.ย  Place another layer of cake on top of the frosting and continue to frost and stack the cake layers.ย Frost the top and sides of the cake. Can garnish the cake with sweetened or unsweetened coconut. (I used cake crumbed to finish the side)
